Netflix is back in the spotlight, but not for a new show or blockbuster film. This time, it is Elon Musk, the world’s loudest billionaire, taking direct aim at the streaming giant. Starting in early October 2025, Musk began using his X (formerly Twitter) account to push a very clear message: Cancel Netflix.
The Tesla boss, 54, has made this a full-blown campaign. According to Musk, Netflix has crossed a line by pushing what he calls a “woke agenda” on young viewers. He is calling out content aimed directly at kids, and that is where things have really fired up.
What Triggered the Backlash?
Musk’s cancel call kicked off after a clip from the animated show “Dead End: Paranormal Park” made its way around social media again. In the clip, the main character says he is transgender. Musk quoted it directly, writing, “This is not ok,” and blasted the show’s TV-Y7 rating, which marks it as safe for children.

The timing is odd. Netflix had already canceled the show after two seasons and wasn’t even promoting it anymore. But that didn’t matter. The moment was enough for Musk to launch into attack mode and call for subscribers to cancel their accounts immediately.
Then he widened his focus. He began reposting clips and images from other shows like “CoComelon” and “The Baby-Sitters Club,” accusing them of pushing similar themes. Musk even went further, accusing Netflix of favoring "anti-white" hiring practices, responding to their diversity reports with a blunt “Cancel Netflix.”
Musk's Message Is Loud and Clear
His posts aren’t random. Musk framed the issue in stark terms, tweeting, “Cancel Netflix for the health of your kids.” That message was paired with a meme showing a Trojan horse labeled “transgender woke agenda” being wheeled into a castle marked “your kids.”
This is Elon Musk in full battle mode, turning his social media megaphone toward one of the biggest names in entertainment. And with over 227 million followers on X, he is making sure the message spreads fast.
Within just three days, Musk posted or shared at least 26 messages calling for the cancellation of Netflix. That includes screenshots of his own cancellation confirmation and repeated encouragements for others to do the same.

In recent months, he has taken a hard stance against what he calls the “woke mind virus” and has been actively pushing back on social and political issues tied to gender identity and diversity.
Musk’s relationship with his transgender daughter, Vivian Wilson, has been public and strained. She has changed her name and publicly distanced herself from him, saying she wants no connection to Elon Musk. He has expressed deep pain about this, saying, “I lost my son, essentially.”
That personal loss seems to be fueling a broader crusade. Musk is fighting what he sees as a cultural shift that he believes is damaging to children, families, and society.
So far, Netflix hasn’t clapped back. They have stayed silent on Musk’s posts and the controversy. But their internal stance is known. Their "Culture Memo" tells employees that Netflix supports “artistic expression,” and if they are uncomfortable working on certain content, this might not be the place for them.
